I have had a love for glass as long as I can remember. In 1997 I put my love for glass into stained glass windows, suncatchers, lamps and stepping-stones. Always looking for that one thing that would end the ultimate search. In 2000 I found it at a bracelet party, lampwork glass beads. The search has been long since over, just the perfecting of techniques is yet to conquer. My love for glass beads astounds me. It never gets old and I am always challenged. I know longer do stained glass and I have put all my time and attention into Lampworking full time.
Running my business is all comsuming. I participate in 15 to 20 juried Fine Art or Contemporary Craft shows across the Southeast Region each year. I teach 4-6 basic lampwork classes in between my show schedule (for details, see "Classes" page). I love what I do and I believe it shows in my work.
I have been teaching basic and intermediate classes since 2002. Teaching is one of the most rewarding things I do. I am proud to offer a comprehensive 2-day class on basic bead making and to have given the Knoxville area and Southeast Region an opportunity to learn this great art. I offer private sessions in my studio and group sessions by appointment in your location. Email me for more information.
In 2005, I was featured on HGTV's Thats Clever program for my Halloween bracelet. I have been written up as a featured artist in many local newspapers and have done live demonstrations on local TV programs such as, Live at Five and Style. I am a business member of the International Society of Glass Beadmakers (ISGB), 2003 I juried into the Foothills Craft Guild and 2008 was asked to sit on the Board of Directors. I am a known instructor with ISGB, Arrowsprings, and Steinert Industries.
I enjoy spending my time planning for shows, planning classes and keeping the website up to date. Thanks for taking a look at Heirlooms in Glass.
